In celebration of Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove, more from my archives. These are the workbook pages for the sequence I animated of Kronk first meeting his Angel and Devil conscience for the first time. They are basically Chris William’s wonderful storyboards with some camera direction applied. The doodles in the margins are my original thoughts on acting bits or poses I wanted to hit after reviewing the sequence with the film’s director Mark Dindal. The animatic of the sequence already existed with @paddywarbucks brilliant voice recorded as well. I’ll be honest, I was scarier to death of animating this entire sequence. It was so funny already, I just didn’t want to screw it up. Next, it was off to the drawing board! #disney #20yearanniversary #animation #kronk

This week (Thursday) Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove celebrates its 20th year anniversary since its theatrical release. I was privileged to be cast as the Supervising Animator on Kronk for the film. In honor of the celebration I will post art, model sheets and scenes from Kronk for giggles and kicks! I wanna thank Producer Randy Fullmer, Director Mark Dindal and @paddywarbucks the voice of Kronk and the rest of the Kronk crew for the best time on a film an animator could have. I got into the Groove and it was good. Today are model sheets of mine of Kronk. But all of these drawings were influenced (heavily) by the design genius of our Lead Character Designer, Joe Moshier. #disney #modelshwets #kronk
