Tony Bancroft was an animator in the Iago unit on Aladdin. He worked closely with Sup. Animator of Iago, Will Finn. He was given this series of scenes of Iago powering Jafar’s magic contraption by running on a wheel in Jafar’s secret lair. Bancroft’s first pass of animation is rough. This frame is from the “Jafar discovers the Diamond in the Rough” sequence. This drawing is from the scene where Iago is running on the wheel to power the contraption while reacting to Aladdin being magically shown to be the one they are searching for to get the lamp. Iago is saying, "That's him! That's the punk we've been.." Rough animation drawings from this feature are very rare.
